She was a little irritated with me for disturbing her but she was a great model as long as she was covered and warm. Yesterday I met up with Heather & Jeff for their maternity session at the beach. They are the cutest couple and I can not wait to meet Little Miss Emma in a few weeks. New Blog and a New Session Post!!

Finally I am updating the blog with a new session. I tend to neglect my blog because of facebook and the ease of posting session previews on there. From now on I am going to try and make sure to post regularly on the blog. :-)

Heidi & Cody were the best couple to photograph. When Heidi contacted me to do a couples session for them I was so excited. I have photographed Heidi many times and her family but never her and her fiance Cody.

We started out in the town of Centreville, then moved on to the Centreville wharf and ended up at their home outside of Centreville to capture some shots with their horses. Thank you to you both for being so gorgeous and making my job so easy. I hope to photograph your journey in life for many years to come. :-) Enjoy!!

Its been way too long since I last blogged but this summer has been crazy with something my family has to do every other day. I feel as though I never have any down time. So we have been to Williamsburg, the kids have been to Ocean City twice with Grandparents, and the Hubby and I just got back from Connecticut for a convention for his company. Summer Time is coming.....

Well there is one week left of school.... AHHHHHH!!!! Then my time will be limited on the computer with 3 kids instead of 1 being home....

This will limit my time blogging but do be on the lookout for an adorable baby girl that I shot a session for last week. I can't share the photos yet because it is a surprise for her daddy for Father's Day but believe me you will want to keep checking back to see her amazing eyes...

I had an amazing session yesterday with a great model. I sent out a message on facebook looking for a model that had either an old prom dress or wedding dress that they would like to trash for the fun of it because I needed more photos for my website and I needed more photog practice. Jenna was in a recent family session that I did and was excited to trash her prom dress (Gotta love her, she actually brought 2 to trash!!! :-)

Since I got so much great advice last time I entered a photo into the Constructive Feedback Friday at I Heart Faces (Click Here To Visit Their Site).

I am so glad that I get the chance again because I did my first shoot with a family other than mine and like a dummy didn't change my ISO before taking the pic. I feel like such an idiot... Please help me out and let me know what I can do with these photos, I have salvaged a bunch but some I couldn't.... My major thing with this one is the sun glare on the Mommy's forehead. How do I get rid of this?

Family Beach Shoot

This weekend was jam packed with excitement for my family and absolutely beautiful weather for it all. To start the weekend off on Saturday my baby girl turned "6", where in the world does time go???? (I plan on sharing some great shots from her birthday celebration in another post)

On Sunday I had my first family beach shoot for my kid's babysitter from a few years ago. I couldn't have asked for a more cooperative group of kids. My New Nephew

On April 1, 2009 my newest nephew Gabriel Michael Collier arrived at 3:08am weighing 6 pounds 11 ounces and 19 1/4 inches. He looks like a peanut next to my baby boy and for good reason since Nick was 3 pounds heavier when he was born. It just kills me to look him and look at Nick and think he was just a brand new baby last year.. Makes me want another one...that is if there was a way to keep them babies...so until that day no more for me..lol...

Baby Sprinkle!!

Last weekend we decided to throw a baby sprinkle for my sister-in-law Heather. Since this will be her second baby it was a sprinkle just to sprinkle her with the baby necessities like diapers, wipes, etc and not a full blown shower. I compiled a few of the images in a slideshow for everyone to enjoy.

Again this week I have decided to enter I Heart Faces' weekly contest. My friend Shelby from Shelby Leigh Photography taught me how to use my camera and when she was doing so she told me not to use the flash...look for natural light. So in turn I haven't taken a picture with a flash since that point of photographer wisdom. This made this week's I Heart Face (Click Here To Visit Their Page) contest easy because all of my shots are "No Flash."
Here is my entry for the kids category. It was from last week when I was playing hide and seek with my son Nicholas. I was hiding under the dining room table (with my camera..lol) when he found me and made a great shot when the sun shining through the skylights in my kitchen hit the cream seat of my dining room chair. I just wish he had a smile on his face. :)

A couple of weeks ago I got to do my first maternity shoot and who better to be my model then my great sister-in-law/best friend Heather. I got a few great shots although I really see that I need to keep practicing.I really wanted to get my 2-year-old niece in on the action but she is a typical non-stop 2-year-old so I only caught one real great shot of her and her future brother or sister (they have decided to make it a surprise) Hope you enjoy the pics, please leave me any and all comments and criticism... My First Post

So I decided to start a blog since I am so addicted to reading blogs written by photographers. I want to try photography but right now my only subjects are my kids.

A photographer friend of mine has graciously enough offered to teach me some tricks of the trade and how to actually use my camera. lol. If you view her website and blog at http://www.shelbyleigh.com/ you will see I am learning from the best.

I have set up a shoot with my pregnant sister-in-law and sweetie of a niece in the next month, so that will be my first ever real shoot. Look for those photos soon to come.

The photos that I am taking now are mostly unedited and will be until I complete my photoshop course. I know some photoshop but by far not enough to edit my photos to their best.
