Ok, le...Hey, it's Marshall from I Heart Faces. Ok, lemme go ahead and get it out to the way. Awwwww, what a cute baby! Nothing makes the soul more content than a sleeping baby. Second I love your choice of camera. That was my first camera, and I still shoot with it often.

Ok, the picture. This is a very cute picture, and I love that you put up a dark background to eliminate distractions. I really like where you went with the post processing too. The version I came up with looks very similar to yours with a few tweaks. I started by bringing your original image into Photoshop. The image felt a bit dark to me so I added a Levels adjustment later and brought that up just sky of clipping the whites. Next, I felt like this was all about the baby and bear, so I cropped in a fair bit. I then converted it to black and white, staying fairly close to the tone you ended up with. I added some overall contrast to deepen the blacks and give it a bit more pop. My last step was to add a pretty large vignette to deepen the background even more and draw more attention to the baby's face. Oh, and I cloned out a little spot on the baby's forehead, and white spot on the clother underneath the basket. Here's a link to my version.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/fxmixer/jennwalters.jpg

I hope this was helpful and gives you some ideas.
